The P2P Financial Systems International Workshop (P2PFISY) is pleased to invite original research contributions for its 12th edition, P2PFISY 2026.
Founded in 2015 at the Deutsche Bundesbank by Dr Paolo Tasca, P2PFISY is a leading international forum bringing together industry leaders, regulators, policymakers and scholars focused on peer-to-peer and decentralised financial systems.
Over the years, the workshop has been supported and hosted by prestigious institutions including the Federal Reserve, the Deutsche Bundesbank, the Bank of Italy, the European Central Bank, the Bank of England, the Bank of Canada, De Nederlandsche Bank and the Central Bank of Uruguay.

Call for Papers Now Open
Authors from academia, public institutions (including central banks), special interest groups and the private sector are invited to submit policy-oriented, theoretical and/or empirical papers focused on decentralised digital technologies and data-driven financial innovation.
Accepted authors will have the opportunity to present their work at the workshop either in person or online, contributing to key discussions shaping the future of digital finance.
To encourage diverse participation, Exponential Science may offer financial support to selected authors wishing to attend the workshop in person. Further details will be communicated following the review process.

Key Themes for P2PFISY 2026
This year’s workshop will focus on the evolving landscape of decentralised digital technologies and financial innovation, including but not limited to:
• Artificial Intelligence in Financial Systems – including AI-driven financial services, generative AI in risk management, algorithmic transparency, governance and ethics.
• Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and Digital Public Infrastructure – covering design, deployment, monetary policy implications, privacy, programmability and interoperability.
• Stablecoins and Digital Payment Systems – including design models, regulation, cross-border payments and integration with traditional financial systems.
• Tokenisation of Real-World Assets (RWA) – spanning real estate, financial instruments, regulatory frameworks, liquidity and cross-border settlement.
• Financial Inclusion and Digital Financial Literacy – focusing on blockchain-based services, digital identity, DeFi for inclusion, and education initiatives.
• Consumer Protection, Data Governance and Trust – addressing consumer risks, data ownership, cybersecurity, resilience and legal accountability.
P2PFISY 2026 will provide a platform for regulators, academics and practitioners to engage with the accelerating shift toward decentralised and data-driven financial systems, exploring emerging opportunities, risks and future developments.
Submission Guidelines
Each submission should include either a full paper with an ordinary abstract or an extended abstract of approximately 1,000 words, along with the name and email address of a nominated author who intends to present the paper.
Submissions must be in English and uploaded in PDF format via EasyChair. There is no mandatory template, and authors may use any standard academic or journal format.
All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the P2P Financial Systems Workshop under a single-blind review process.
