We are currently developing cutting-edge blockchain-based educational certification products, using verifiable credentials (VCs) and decentralised identity (DID) systems to revolutionise digital trust, transparency, and interoperability in education and beyond.
Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Marketing and Business Developer/Manager who will:
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis on the emerging market for blockchain-based educational credentials, DID systems, and verifiable credentials.
- Identify customer needs, competitor strategies, market opportunities, and trends within blockchain-driven educational and identity verification solutions.
Lead Generation:
- Develop and execute strategies to generate leads through digital marketing, social media campaigns, networking events, industry conferences, and strategic partnerships.
- Qualify leads against our target profile, focusing specifically on educational institutions, accreditation bodies, corporate training providers, and relevant government entities.
Sales and Client Acquisition:
- Engage prospective clients through targeted outreach, presentations, and meetings.
- Develop tailored pitches highlighting the value proposition of blockchain-based verifiable credentials and DID, clearly articulating advantages such as enhanced security, authenticity, portability, and reduced fraud.
Product Development and Management:
- Collaborate closely with the product and technology teams, conveying market feedback and influencing the development of new features or enhancements for educational credential products.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in blockchain, verifiable credentials, decentralised identity, and educational technologies to ensure competitive product positioning.
Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders including academic institutions, professional bodies, employers, and regulatory authorities.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities, providing holistic solutions based on client needs.
Strategic Planning:
- Participate in formulating strategic plans for market penetration, growth objectives, and positioning within the blockchain-education and verifiable credentials sectors.
- Set and monitor sales targets, adjusting strategies to achieve and exceed performance goals.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and ethical standards governing data privacy, identity management, and educational certification.
- Understand and communicate the specific benefits of blockchain and DID products in mitigating risks associated with credential fraud, privacy breaches, and identity theft.
Education and Advocacy:
- Serve as a thought leader in blockchain, DID, and verifiable credential solutions, developing content such as blogs, whitepapers, case studies, and presentations.
- Advocate for broader adoption of decentralised and verifiable digital credentials, highlighting Exponential Science's role in setting industry standards and enhancing trust.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with marketing, product development, and support teams to ensure consistent brand messaging, product alignment, and superior client experience.
- Foster knowledge-sharing, continuous learning, and innovative thinking within the team.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Regularly track and analyse sales performance, client engagement, and market penetration.
- Prepare insightful performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior management to guide decision-making.
Skill requirements
The ideal applicant will be characterised by:
- Knowledge and passion for blockchain technology, particularly related to verifiable credentials and decentralised identity.
- Proven experience in market research, business development, sales strategy, and GTM planning in educational or identity technology sectors.
- Expertise in lead generation and client relationship management across digital and traditional platforms.
- Exceptional skills in product advocacy, education, and strategic partnership development.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, compliance standards, and risk management related to digital credentials and identity verification.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills with a proactive and self-driven approach.
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities and mentor junior team members.
