A joint initiative between the USC Shoah Foundation and Stanford University's Department of Electrical Engineering, the lab's mission is to develop and prototype tools and principles to establish trust in digital records. In an era of rampant misinformation and AI-generated content, Starling Lab is pioneering new methods to securely capture, store, and verify digital media.

The core of their work is the Starling Framework for Data Integrity, a comprehensive, open-source methodology for authenticating digital content. This framework is built on three pillars: Capture, which involves creating a chain of custody from the moment a photo or video is taken, Store, which uses decentralized networks like IPFS and Filecoin to securely distribute and preserve content, and Verify, which leverages immutable ledgers to register and audit the provenance of digital assets. This end-to-end approach has been applied in various real-world scenarios, from documenting the 78 days of the 2020 U.S. presidential transition with Reuters to preserving the USC Shoah Foundation's archive of 55,000 holocaust testimonies.

Porini Foundation

The Porini Foundation is a Swiss-based non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between innovative technology and nature conservation. Founded by experts in wildlife biology, blockchain technology, and sustainable business, its mission is to support climate and nature conservation projects by leveraging disruptive technologies, particularly zero-carbon blockchain solutions, to align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

The foundation's flagship initiative is Nature Collectibles, the first global marketplace for NFTs for Conservation (NFTCs). This platform allows individuals to purchase digital collectibles that are directly linked to real-world conservation projects in protected areas. Each collectible represents a specific species, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to funding conservation efforts, with the foundation covering all transaction fees. This creates a transparent and direct funding channel for vital conservation work.

HashGuild

HashGuild is an inclusive NFT infrastructure project built on Hedera Hashgraph, serving as both a marketplace and launchpad that allows creators and collectors to mint, buy, sell, and earn rewards on Hedera-based NFTs. It emphasizes community-driven development, users can propose and vote on features, and aims to provide accessible tooling and governance-enabled services tailored to the needs of Hedera’s NFT ecosystem.

bountyblok

Bountyblok is a versatile gamification platform that provides businesses with a suite of tools to drive user engagement, loyalty, and specific marketing outcomes. Operating as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, Bountyblok enables companies to easily integrate gaming mechanics into their existing websites, applications, and communities.
