Tolam Earth is a Web3 marketplace and data utility platform engineered to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and credibility of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM). Launched as a joint venture with backing from the HBAR Foundation, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Object Computing, Tolam directly addresses critical market challenges such as price opacity, illiquidity, and concerns over the integrity of carbon credits.

Built on the Hedera network, the platform provides a marketplace for corporate buyers and carbon project developers to transact in Digital Environmental Assets (DEAs). It leverages the Hedera Token Service (HTS) to represent carbon credits as unique tokens and the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to create a publicly verifiable and immutable audit trail for all transactions and credit retirements. This ensures a high degree of trust and transparency for all participants.

A core component of the platform is its "mitigation engine," which employs sophisticated matching algorithms. This engine helps corporate buyers discover and purchase carbon offsets that align precisely with their specific Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, considering factors like project type, geographical location, and additional community or biodiversity co-benefits.

QPles

Qples is a digital promotions platform that specializes in the creation, distribution, and validation of digital coupons for Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands and retailers. The platform provides an end-to-end solution for delivering targeted offers to consumers through various channels, including mobile wallets and print-at-home formats.

It’s goal is to address long-standing challenges in the coupon industry, most notably fraud and the lack of real-time validation through its integration with the Hedera blockchain network. By leveraging the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), Qples creates a verifiable and immutable record for each digital coupon it issues. When a coupon is created, its unique data is hashed and submitted to the Hedera public ledger, generating a "proof of state" with a secure, tamper-proof timestamp.

This on-chain verification allows for real-time authentication at the point of sale, effectively preventing fraudulent redemptions and unauthorized duplication through the creation of a universal, single-use digital asset. Its integration with the Hedera blockchain network enables Qples to offer brands a highly secure, transparent, and data-rich promotions solution.

Starling Labs

Starling Lab for Data Integrity is an academic research center that operates at the intersection of cryptography, decentralized web protocols, and the humanities. A joint initiative between the USC Shoah Foundation and Stanford University's Department of Electrical Engineering, the lab's mission is to develop and prototype tools and principles to establish trust in digital records. In an era of rampant misinformation and AI-generated content, Starling Lab is pioneering new methods to securely capture, store, and verify digital media.

The core of their work is the Starling Framework for Data Integrity, a comprehensive, open-source methodology for authenticating digital content. This framework is built on three pillars: Capture, which involves creating a chain of custody from the moment a photo or video is taken, Store, which uses decentralized networks like IPFS and Filecoin to securely distribute and preserve content, and Verify, which leverages immutable ledgers to register and audit the provenance of digital assets. This end-to-end approach has been applied in various real-world scenarios, from documenting the 78 days of the 2020 U.S. presidential transition with Reuters to preserving the USC Shoah Foundation's archive of 55,000 holocaust testimonies.

Interwork Alliance

The InterWork Alliance (IWA) is an organization focused on simplifying and standardizing the use of token-powered services for businesses. As an initiative of the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), the IWA works to create a common language and framework for tokenized assets, which allows different blockchain networks and applications to work together seamlessly.

The alliance's primary mission is to empower organizations to adopt and use token-based distributed services in their day-to-day operations. To achieve this, the IWA has developed several key frameworks, including the Token Taxonomy Framework (TTF), which provides a common set of definitions and standards for tokens of all types. The IWA also has a strong focus on sustainability, with task forces dedicated to creating standards for Voluntary Ecological Markets and Carbon Emission Tokens.

The Hedera network and its ecosystem partners are active members and contributors to the InterWork Alliance. Hedera has collaborated with the IWA on its Sustainability Working Group, and several applications built on Hedera are designed to be compliant with the IWA's standards.

HashGuild

HashGuild is an inclusive NFT infrastructure project built on Hedera Hashgraph, serving as both a marketplace and launchpad that allows creators and collectors to mint, buy, sell, and earn rewards on Hedera-based NFTs. It emphasizes community-driven development, users can propose and vote on features, and aims to provide accessible tooling and governance-enabled services tailored to the needs of Hedera’s NFT ecosystem.
